2019 Tesla Model 3 Price Drop

The 2019 Tesla Model 3 is a best-selling electric vehicle renowned for its style, driving pleasure, and impressive range. This compact, fully electric sports sedan accommodates five passengers and competes with other compact electric cars like the Chevrolet Bolt EV, Hyundai Kona Electric, Kia Niro EV, and Nissan Leaf Plus.

The Model 3 boasts a sleek and contemporary exterior design characterized by a sweeping roofline and smooth lines. It foregoes the traditional front grille due to its electric powertrain. Standard features include LED headlights and taillights, as well as auto-dimming, heated, and power-folding side mirrors. The Model 3 comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, with optional 19- and 20-inch variants available. The long-range and performance trims include LED fog lights.

Inside, the Model 3 features a minimalist design with a prominent 15-inch touchscreen at the center of the dashboard, controlling all vehicle systems. The cabin is characterized by its simplicity and horizontal elements. Front and rear seat space is somewhat compact, as is the 15-cubic-foot cargo capacity. The Model 3 offers 12-way power-heated front seats and a roomy center console. The Long Range and Performance trims come equipped with heated rear seats.

The Model 3 distinguishes itself with spirited handling and swift acceleration, establishing itself as an exceptional performer. The base Standard Range Plus model features rear-wheel drive with a standard-range battery, providing an estimated range of 240 miles on a single charge. The Long Range and Performance models come with all-wheel drive, featuring dual motors (one for the front wheels and one for the rear) and a long-range battery pack, offering an estimated range of 310 miles. All trims feature a single-gear transmission. Home charging with a 240-volt circuit provides up to 44 miles of range per hour, while Tesla’s Supercharger stations can add up to 180 miles in just 15 minutes.

In terms of fuel economy, the Model 3 garners an electric equivalent rating of 140/124 mpg city/highway for the Standard Range Plus, while the long-range and performance models score an equivalent rating of 120/122 mpg city/highway.

The Model 3 comes equipped with a sizable 15-inch touchscreen that governs all vehicle systems. The base audio system includes six speakers, 200 watts of power, and Bluetooth connectivity. The Model 3 offers four USB ports and smartphone docks. The Long Range and Performance trims feature an enhanced audio system with 14 speakers, a subwoofer, and dual amplifiers, providing 560 watts of power. These trims also include standard navigation and an internet browser with streaming music and media.

The Model 3 comes standard with driver-assist systems such as forward emergency braking and a blind-spot monitor. Tesla’s Autopilot system, which maintains a safe following distance from the vehicle in front and keeps the car centered in its lane, is included. There’s also an optional upgrade for semi-autonomous highway driving and self-parking capabilities, including both parallel and perpendicular parking.
